Scholarships and Giving Back
Inclusiveness: I started doing classes online because of COVID. But I love how the online world made it more accessible for different ages, religions, locations, ethnicities, abilities, genders ... this is about what unites us as humans, not what divides us.
Donations: I will donate 20% of my profits to organizations that help the world. I'll let each workshop group vote on which non-profit to support. (Some of my favorites include the Teen Kitchen Project, Earth Justice, No Kid Hungry, Planned Parenthood, Second Harvest Food Bank, and the Center for Farmworker Families—to name but a few. As my business grows, I hope to donate more. If you have a favorite organization, let me know.
Scholarships Available: This practice should be enlightening and open—not stressful. That's why I'm offering scholarships. Just contact me if you don't feel like you can afford this work but want to participate fully. (All scholarships will remain confidential.)
Carbon Offset: I choose to offset my businesses (and personal use) carbon footprint here: https://projectwren.com/ Here's another option if you're curious: https://www.onepercentfortheplanet.org/. I know there's much more I can do. But these offsets remind me that energy costs more than money.
